"Green Acres" has nothing on me. I moved to the country without any idea as to what to do. Composting was a completely foreign concept to me. As we live outside the city limits, we don't have regular trash pickup, so composting was "thrust" upon me. Clayton Morris has presented a clear and concise book that explains the who, what, where, when and why of composting in a way that did not make me feel like a total idiot. Beginning with "The History of Composting," the book explains everything that a novice needs to know (who knew there was such a thing as "Hot Composting" or "Cold Composting?) and how to get the most out of your compost pile. And one of the nicest features of the book is that it does not have to be read "in order." You can start at any chapter and understand what is being explained. Excellent book!Product details

How to Compost A Complete Guide to Home Composting edition by Chet Swanson Crafts Hobbies Home eBooks Reviews
My family was interested in starting a home compost and I found this book very helpful. I believe we will start the process in the Spring. A good read.
I like organic gardening and vermicompost myself but this book has given me great insight on how to compost without using worms
Very instructive, informative and useful !!!
Tells you what you need to know. As a city boy, I didn't know much but now I am very familiar.
This is a very detailed guide to home composting, with plenty of background information on why you should compost and how to make use of completed compost.
I got kind of lost in all of the formulas. I think I was just looking for a super basic guide, not the exact scientific formulas how to have primo compost.
We spend a lot of money each year on soil for our garden, potted plants, etc. Clayton has explained the home composting process in a simple manner. I'm actually looking forward to doing it. My favorite part of the book is the "troubleshooting" section. Living in a rural area, with lots of outdoor friends, will make that section most useful.
